A young man finds an unpublished manuscript for a novel, plagiarizes it, and becomes a famous author. The problem is, he has to find the real author before the world finds out about his crime. The key to solving the mystery lies in his recollections of all the girls he fell in love with during his schooldays. The young man recalls heartwarming yet bittersweet events from his past including: collecting 1,000 coupons to get to kiss the girl of his dreams, becoming a punching bag for a girl who wanted to become a professional wrestler, and frantically fighting for a chance to feed candy to a French transfer student. Although the show is mostly based on a short novel written by breakout writer Tsumekirio, the plot has been altered to include an element of mystery surrounding the identity of the author whose manuscript the protagonist stole. The protagonist has always come off as a total loser to the girls he has yearned for, but he can’t help falling in love with their eccentricities, time and time again. At times sad, but always endearing, this heartwarming comedy takes a tour through time, reflecting on the protagonist’s wistful memories of unrequited love.
