In 2019, Atsushi Shimosaka was diagnosed with early-onset dementia, a condition diagnosed in those under age 65. As he began to lose his way and had difficulty keeping track of time, it started to affect his everyday life. Since his diagnosis, his wife, Yoshiko always tries to support and and encourage him.
